For desserts we had strawberries dipped in white chocolate and blue sugar crystals, mini cheese-cakes with blueberry and cherry fillings, garnished with fresh mint from the garden, giant sugar cookies covered in cream cheese frosting and fruit, rhubarb cobbler, strawberry-lemon scones with fresh strawberries and whip cream, s'mores bars, a fresh fruit salad filled a baby carriage carved out of a watermelon, and home-brewed root-beer floats.
Sun tea, lemonade, ice water and home-brewed root-beer was served in mason jars. For decorations in the yard we created large tissue paper pom-poms in red, white, blue & light blue and hung them with red ribbon from the trees. We also knotted handkerchiefs in our color scheme creating a banner that draped from tree to tree providing the perfect splash of color that tied everything together.
